Lazy, I have to agree with you about that "gosh" thing. I had lived in USA for few years and it always seems very funny to me, when the people, who can hardly speak good english are using words like this. And also those "upss" and "wows". Its really killing me. And by the way I visited one time english class at university and what I saw, I have never seen before. Americans have problems to recognise verb, adverb, adjective etc. Hope you have a good day. G.

lenule, no, i´ve never been TO any english speaking country, but i lived in germany and in spain some time, so i know other languege almost like a native speaker. quiestion was more theoretical:Yes, sure, U can travel etc, but anyway, i am a language teacher. probabbly i am a bad teacher, ´cause until now, i was not able to explain to my students WHY study german, spannish or italian. they can see their fathers, who hardly finnished the secondary school, but they make progressive bussines, if they speak some language, they speak just as for common very easy small talk conversation, in other cases, they pay some person who writes, synchronizes or translates what´s necesarry. Don´t U have the same impression? So -as for me, the answer is clear: languages are important, but i wanted to ask another people. Is it that if i were rich, i wouldn´t need to study languages?wish u good night

Ahoj Katy - no pekne si tu tahas triko, koukam :o))Ja us par let ziju v UK a vsimla jsem si, ze spousta z vas ma stejnej problem jako ja (i po tech letech, partner se mi pravidelne smeje): cleny.Pred UK je vzdycky clen - tj. I live in THE UK, want to go to THE UK atd. Taky pozor na to, ze ve vztaznych vetach vetach se meni casy a zpusoby:takze 'You were in London' (byla jsi v Londyne), ale 'Your brother told me you had been in London' (tvuj bratr mi rikal, ze jsi byla v Londyne). Pouziva se to normalne v hovorove reci. Stejne tak 'You will go to London' / 'Your brother told me you would go to London'. Enough of showing off. I'd better go back to work but all the best to all of you - don't forget that the best way to learn English is to get yourself an English speaking boyfriend (a girlfriend - for gentlemen - obviously :o))

petka (Út, 22. 3. 2005 - 16:03)

lenule, so why don´t you write czech? I thing it´s a nice idea to write in english, is there some topic you would preffer?Do you think it´s still necessary to speak languages?

Gabi (Út, 22. 3. 2005 - 10:03)

Katy, kdyz nechces ucebnicovou anglictinu, tak prave "have got" je klasicka mluvena americka anglictina.Amik nerekne: " She has blue eyes" ale " She has got blue eyes" A To "has" jeste k tomu uplne polkne.

Kacer McDonald (Ne, 20. 3. 2005 - 21:03)

Tos me Katy uklidnila:-) Ale v CJ se nahodou rozlisuje:"byli byste byvali chteli" a"chteli byste"Moc te zdravim Katy, vypadas jako mila holka.

Jana (Ne, 20. 3. 2005 - 19:03)

Gabi (Ne, 20. 3. 2005 - 10:03)

Jano : "I do not have any money" nebo "I have not got any money"

Nikol (So, 19. 3. 2005 - 22:03)

katy (So, 19. 3. 2005 - 21:03)

lidičky, děláte v té angličtině základní chyby...chodila jsem na základku, která fungovala na bázi amerického školství a učili nás američani, také v ní nejsem machr, ale:těšit se na něco: look forward TOotázka: are youthe best way (HOW) to learn... - je to tak lepšíhow long ARE YOU THERE and where concrete?to london - před města ani státy se nedává členwish you good luck:)!!!

Leňule (So, 19. 3. 2005 - 17:03)

Stana you are in UK?Super. How long and where concrete?London? What are you doing there? Can you write me something about UK?Behaviour people, their habits. And so long. Thanks
